Family Photography
The people you love, exactly as they are right now.
Families are messy, loud, and full of moments that disappear faster than anyone expects. The photographs worth keeping aren't the perfectly posed ones—they're the ones that actually look like your family.
I work outdoors across Orange County—beaches, parks, open spaces—where families can be themselves while I capture the moments that happen between the posed ones. Natural light, real interactions, no studio lighting or forced smiles required.
Sessions take place at outdoor locations across Orange County—Newport Beach, Newport Back Bay, Huntington Beach, Irvine, Costa Mesa, and surrounding areas. Golden hour sessions—early morning or late afternoon—offer the most flattering natural light and tend to feel the most relaxed. Session length and location are discussed at booking based on your family's size and preferences.
Common Questions
Where do family sessions take place?
Outdoors across Orange County. Popular locations include Newport Beach, Newport Back Bay, Huntington Beach Central Park, and various parks in Irvine and Costa Mesa. If you have a meaningful location in mind, let's discuss it.
What time of day works best?
Golden hour—the hour after sunrise or before sunset—offers the warmest, most flattering natural light and tends to produce the most relaxed sessions. Morning sessions also work well for families with young children who are freshest early in the day.
How should we dress for the session?
Coordinated tones rather than matching outfits tend to photograph best. Avoid busy patterns or logos. Choose colors that feel natural together and clothing that's comfortable enough to move in freely.
How many people can be included?
Extended family sessions with grandparents, cousins, and multiple generations are welcome. Let me know the group size at booking so the session is planned appropriately.
How long does a family session last?
Typically one to two hours depending on group size and how the session flows. Larger groups generally need more time to capture everyone in various combinations.
What if young children get restless?
It's expected and completely manageable. Sessions are unrushed—breaks for snacks, play, or settling are built into the flow rather than working against it. Some of the most genuine family moments happen during those unscripted pauses.
How will I receive the final photos?
Edited images are delivered digitally in high resolution. Details about delivery timeline and number of images are discussed at booking based on session scope.
